Community Circles Month Proclamation

City of Walnut Creek Proclamation

Whereas trust is essential for cooperation to exist between people of diversity in our common pursuit of happiness, prosperity and freedom;

Whereas social groups in our community build circles of trust between individuals who gather together in pursuit of common interests such as sports & recreation, the arts & entertainment, and worship;

Whereas social groups give people of diverse backgrounds an opportunity to get to know each other and develop working relationships with each other;

Whereas peace, safety and efficient operation of services within the City is benefited by its cooperation with a vast support network of organizations, agencies, and social groups;

Whereas the City appreciates the contributions of the many social groups who work to build trust within their circles of influence in our community;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gary Skrel, Mayor of the City of Walnut Creek, on behalf of the City Council, do hereby proclaim Ocotber 2005 as

• "Community Circles Month"

and encourage all it's citizens to participate in programs, events, business endeavors and other activities which build trust and collaboration within our community.
