Proclmations for "Community Circles Month"

Walnut Creek City Proclmation

Walnut Creek is first to sign Proclamation in 2005

Community Circles Month began in 2005 in Central Contra Costa County. During Community Circles Month, we recognized the social groups in our community that build trust and cooperation year round in their circles of influence in the areas of arts, entertainment, sports, recreation and worship. This also gave the individuals of our community an opportunity to find out about the social groups in their own neighborhoods that they may not have been previously aware of. People found new events to participate in that stimulated the development of relationships with others who shared common interests. See or Frequently Asked Questions for more details.

Please read the proclamations in the list at the bottom of this page. The speak for themselves in describing what Community Circles Month is. We also want to devote a few paragraphs expressing our appreciation to the cities and towns in our county.

To our city and town governments:

Building Bridges wishes to thank those cities and towns who are joining us for this first year of Community Circles Month. Each of you provide the stability, order and quiet efficiency which makes it possible for us to have the freedom to enjoy our associations together as citizens as we gather in our various social groups.

Sincerely, Karen E. Lile, Executive Director of Building Bridges (Coordinating agency for Community Circles Month)

We appreciate the organizational structure, programs, facilities, and encouragement you give that allows the social groups in our communities to flourish. We appreciate the programs, events and opportunities you provide. We appreciate the planning & development, transportation, public parks, land spaces, water, utilities, waste management, police services and other services you provide to us.

The social groups that gather together for arts, entertainment, recreation, sports and worship within the our community, could not function as well without your ever diligent efforts to make our community safe, secure and organized.
